Easter Bonnets & Finery; lots of paperdolls

Greetings!
Paul Harvey's '....rest of the story...' won't be completed until tomorrow,
so I thought today we could have some pretty activities
to get ready for Easter Sunday.

Hollywood starlet, Eleanor Boardman, vintage magazine cover

Let's have some Easter Finery Fun!
This is Ellie:

This is a Disney Store display window, from DisneyLand:
We were at DisneyLand for their 50th anniversary
and an early celebration of our 25th wedding anniversary.
It was the end of October,
and the Park was FULL with these darling little girls
all dressed up in their favorite princess outfits.
I had so much fun seeing them all!

Here is Lady Guenevere from Camelot, preparing to go to prayers:
Don't  you think she needs more outfits?
You can find this paper doll and so many more at Dover Publications.
See side bar for info.

I expect you have all made at least some colored Easter eggs.
Here is a cute way to dress them up even more!

Egg Chick How-To1. Start with a dyed Easter egg.

2. To make the beak, fold a 1/2-inch square of crepe paper in half. Then cut out a triangle, with the wide end on the fold; unfold and glue to the top of a dyed egg with craft glue.
(I don't see why cardstock wouldn't work just as well.)

3. Cut 2 wing spaces from crepe paper (be creative!), and glue each to the egg next to the beak.
4. You're finished! (I see in the photo that they have added tiny little eyes. Just use a permanent marker with a very fine point.
Put your eggs in the finished Easter bucket on a bed of Easter grass
 and add candies, if desired.
Check out the cute plastic bucket decorations too!

I think we should all wear Easter Bonnets/Hats for Easter Sunday.
It is a lost pleasure to most of today's women.
Fortunately little girls still wear fancy dress up hats,
but still,
I want to!
Perhaps I shall.

although, sometimes you really don't need a hat to make an entrance:

This little spring crocus flower fairy has found the perfect hat:
“First a howling blizzard woke us,
Then the rain came down to soak us,
And now before the eye can focus -
Crocus.”

Here is another of Liana's wonderful costumes, with a great hat!
I have included one version of the paper doll that goes with it. Liana also has a 'white' version. Check out my previous blogs, or go to her website. See side bar.
